Keanu Reeves chats about which character he would want to play if he ever joined the MCU, and his childhood dream role is someone fans are constantly suggesting him for. Since 2008, the MCU has been the most successful interconnected superhero franchise, bringing the Avengers to life on the big screen. Even when Marvel Studios didn't have access to Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four or the X-Men, Kevin Feige took other Marvel players, including Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, and Thor, and made them A-list characters as they got bigger exposure to the mainstream audience.

Throughout all of its Phases, the MCU has tapped multiple actors to bring these characters to life. Whether they were established performers or Hollywood newcomers, the franchise continues to add new characters every year, and they are not stopping any time soon. Fans are constantly suggesting various actors to play heroes and villains who have yet to make it to the big screen. Sometimes their ideas actually come to fruition, with John Krasinski as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness as a primary example.
Reeves, who has become one of the industry's most beloved stars of this generation, is another name that constantly gets brought up in fancasts, especially for MCU characters. During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the Matrix and John Wick star was asked if there was a Marvel character he had in mind if he ever got to join the MCU. Thinking back to his 10-year-old self, he admits he'd probably choose Ghost Rider, which prompts the host to mention fans have been calling for him to play that specific role for some time. Check out Reeves' quote below:
It's really cool, I think the way that the Marvel films have developed and what they are is really spectacular. It would be great to be a part of that. […] [Who would] 10-year-old Reeves [want to be]? I think he would probably want to be Ghost Rider.
Could Reeves Actually Play The MCU’s Ghost Rider?
While Marvel Studios officially has no Ghost Rider projects in the works, could Reeves actually play him in the MCU? It's tricky, because the franchise has already introduced Johnny Blaze and Robbie Reyes through Agents of SHIELD, with Gabriel Luna playing the latter. However, since Johnny was played by a stunt performer, the MCU has technically not cast that version of Ghost Rider yet. There is also Danny Ketch, who is the second Ghost Rider in the comics, and he has yet to be brought into any of the films or TV shows.
Even if Marvel Studios plans to use Ghost Rider within the next few years, Reeves might be too busy to join the MCU. Warner Bros. Discovery is making a Constantine sequel, with Reeves set to reprise the role of the Hellblazer for the first time since 2005. Depending on how far they will go with the sequel, especially if they make it part of the DCEU, he may be locked up with the DC character for years to come after Constantine 2. However, if the MCU were to add Reeves as Ghost Rider, whether it be Johnny or Danny, it would be another fancast come true, as he would be perfect as the Marvel hero.
