Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania fan art imagines a fight between Paul Rudd's hero and Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror. After two popular solo outings, with 2015's Ant-Man and 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp, Rudd is set to return as Scott Lang in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The film is directed by Peyton Reed, who also directed the two previous installments, and is set to kick off MCU Phase 5 after Black Panther: Wakanda Forever concludes Phase 4 later this year.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to tell the story of Scott and Hope (Evangeline Lilly) as they explore the Quantum Realm and its various wild and wacky creatures. A recent trailer for the film, shown exclusively to attendees at Disney's D23 Expo 2023, confirms that Majors' Kang the Conqueror will also play an important role in the story after first being introduced in the season 1 finale of Loki as He Who Remains. Although fans who weren't in attendance at D23 have yet to see any official footage from the movie, Reed recently teased that an official trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania could be right around the corner, which could shed further light on Kang's role.

In an impressive new piece of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania fan art from Subi Özil on Instagram, Paul Rudd's Ant-Man can be seen fighting Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror. The art sees Ant-Man shrunk down, perched on some type of protective force field around Kang's face. The MCU villain doesn't look quite like audiences last saw him in the Loki season 1 finale, and instead boasts a more comics-accurate appearance, including a helmet. Check out the fan art above.
What Role Will Kang Play In Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania?
With the announcement of several projects from MCU Phase 5, Kang's role in the upcoming Ant-Man sequel has become a much more exciting proposition. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which is slated to release in 2025, confirms that Majors' villain will be a very significant character in the MCU moving forward, meaning that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will likely act as his official introduction to the main players in the MCU. Although Kang has already been seen in Loki, the show essentially operates in its own realm, away from the central action on Earth-616.
Considering the villain is confirmed to return in at least one other MCU film after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, fans can already be confident that Ant-Man alone won't defeat Kang the Conqueror. The upcoming third Ant-Man movie is also expected to feature MODOK as a villain character, which could mean Kang operates more in the background as a puppet master of sorts, just like Thanos did during MCU Phases 1 and 2. While it's unclear just how accurate Özil's art will be to the final film, fans shouldn't have too much longer to wait before an official trailer release for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
