Eli Roth and 50 Cent will be collaborating on three upcoming original horror movies. 50 Cent, who was born Curtis Jackson III, is best known as a rapper who burst onto the mainstream scene in 2003 with his album Get Rich or Die Tryin'. However, he also has a substantial career in film, beginning in 2005 with a semiautobiographical film, also titled Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Since then, he has appeared in a variety of projects as varied as the 2015 Melissa McCarthy comedy Spy, the 2010 backstage drama Morning Glory, and the action franchise Escape Plan. He is also the co-creator, co-producer, and star of the Starz series Power. Despite his wide variety of roles, he has not yet dabbled in any major horror features.

The same cannot be said of Roth, who has been inseparable from the horror genre since his debut feature, 2003's Cabin Fever. Since then, he went on to helm the first two Hostel films, the cannibal film The Green Inferno, and the Keanu Reeves thriller Knock Knock. As a producer, he has also created the docuseries Eli Roth's History of Horror, which has aired for 3 seasons on AMC. He has also frequently collaborated with iconic director Quentin Tarantino, contributing the trailer "Thanksgiving" to Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's throwback double feature Grindhouse and even starring as the Bear Jew in Inglourious Basterds.

Per Deadline, Eli Roth and 50 Cent have officially announced that they will be collaborating on a trio of original horror films. The 3-picture deal was made with 3BlackDot, with Roth and 50 Cent signed on as producers, in an effort to create horror films that focus on narratives centering around BIPOC characters. The three projects that are being developed are titled The Gun, Trackmaster, and Creature House.

What We Know About All 3 Eli Roth/50 Cent Horror Films

The Gun, which was written by Kirkland Morris (Power Book IV: Force), will follow a young man whose quest for revenge for his father's murder leads him to a haunted gun. Trackmaster, which comes from Justin Calen-Chenn (Peacock's reboot drama Bel-Air), follows two rappers who discover a mysterious beat that unleashes a murderous spirit. The third and final film, Creature House, comes from writing duo Dallas Jackson (South of Nowhere) and Kevin Grevioux (who provided the story for Underworld, which he also starred in) and follows a group who get trapped in a horror movie museum where the exhibits come to life.

Horror fans should certainly be intrigued by this series of collaborations between Eli Roth and 50 Cent. With 50 Cent's history of bringing BIPOC characters to the screen both as producer and star, and Roth's own history in the horror genre, it seems likely that some, if not all, of these new projects will strike a chord with genre audiences. While they are still in the early stages of development, it should be interesting to follow the progress of these films as they head into casting and production.
