All 25 of the films in the James Bond franchise will be coming to Prime Video this October. The character of James Bond originated in 1953 in a series of 12 books and two short story collections by British author Ian Fleming. The suave superspy first appeared on film as played by Sean Connery in 1962's Dr. No, a classic film that kicked off a sprawling franchise that has run to this day. The 25 films that are popularly considered a proper part of the franchise are produced by Eon, not including the 1967 comedy Casino Royale and the 1983 Connery feature Never Say Never Again.

Over the years, many different actors have stepped into the role of James Bond. This includes Connery, George Lazenby (who appeared only in 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service), Roger Moore (who held the role from 1973's Live and Let Die to 1985's A View to a Kill), Timothy Dalton (who appeared in two films beginning with 1987's The Living Daylights), and Pierce Brosnan (whose tenure stretched from 1995's GoldenEye to 2002's Die Another Day). The most recent and longest-running Bond has been Daniel Craig, who appeared in the Bond origin story Casino Royale in 2006, which kicked off a grittier and more continuity-focused branch of the franchise until his final entry, 2021's No Time to Die.
Prime Video has announced that they will begin streaming all 25 Eon James Bond films on their platform in most territories beginning on October 5 (some territories including Germany, Brazil, and Sub-Saharan Africa will have 24, with No Time to Die excluded). The films will be streaming on the platform for a limited time only, as a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the franchise. To commemorate the arrival of this collection, Prime Video will also be debuting an exclusive recording of the October 4 event The Sound of 007: LIVE from the Royal Albert Hall and the documentary The Sound of 007, which follows the history of Bond's iconic musical themes.
James Bond's Streaming Future Explained
So far, while Prime Video has stated that these Bond films will only be streaming together for a limited time, they have not specified exactly how long the films will be available, or which films will remain after this limited period. Amazon now owns MGM and their library of films, so it is likely that quite a few of these titles will stick around on the platform even after the limited window. However, that deal was made in 2021, so specific titles may be promised to other streaming platforms in the future as part of the streaming landscape's incredibly complicated series of licensing contracts. It is already clear how complicated the international streaming rights for the newest film No Time to Die have proven to be, so the films will probably scatter to many different corners of the internet before Prime Video is able to gather them back in the same place again.
Although it is unlikely that every single James Bond movie will remain on the platform, it is probable that Prime Video is setting themselves up to be the exclusive streaming home for Bond 26 once it is made. So far not much is known about that project, including who will play Bond next, but Amazon has previously stated that they are committed to pursuing theatrical releases for future sequels. However, that doesn't mean they won't be keeping any new Bond films as their streaming crown jewels once that theatrical window closes.
