The first Bones & All trailer has premiered, showing the first detailed look at the cannibal love story starring Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell. Based on the novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis, Bones & All stars Russell as Maren, an "eater" who is abandoned by her father (André Holland) when she is just a teenager. Taking to the road, Maren traverses 80s America searching for companionship when she finds Lee, played by Chalamet, a fellow eater with whom she instantly feels connected.

Bones & All is directed by Luca Guadagnino, marking the second collaboration between the director and Chalamet after their first film, Call Me By Your Name, launched Chalamet to stardom. The film also stars Mark Rylance, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jessica Harper, and Chloë Sevigny. Bones & All premiered at the Venice International Film Festival to resounding critical acclaim, with critics citing its gory brutality and intimate love story grounded by Russell's star-making performance. Previous Bones & All trailers, clips, and images have teased the film, but now the first full look is here.
The Bones & All trailer dives deeper into what's already been revealed about the film, namely the love story at its center and the gore that shocked and wowed audiences at the film's festival premiere. Both Russell and Chalamet, whose character is named Lee, can be seen executing various kills in bloody fashion. The Bones & All trailer reveals some of their other eater companions as well – played by Rylance and Stuhlbarg.
What The Bones & All Trailer Reveals About The Story
The Bones & All trailer is light on plot, but it does emphasize a few key elements of the film. Maren and Lee clearly fall in love, revealing a difference from the books wherein their relationship is less defined. Fortunately, it looks like the change to add a love story paid off as many have praised the film for its juxtaposition of love against the backdrop of Reagan's America and the brutal cannibalism at the center of the film. Chalamet's cannibal seems to be doing most of the killing, but Russell's Maren also gets bloody in the Bones & All trailer.
From slitting someone's throat in a cornfield to beating someone with a tire iron, the Bones & All trailer promises plenty of gore. Guadagnino previously helmed a remake of Suspiria starring Dakota Johnson and not only did the director show his knack for tension-building suspense, but the movie's climax was a bloody visual feast. How Bones & All will compare remains to be seen, but if the trailer is any indication, Lee and Maren won't be the only ones eating by the time the film releases in theaters this November.
