Disney shares a new clip from Hocus Pocus 2 that shows the Sanderson sisters being fooled by new characters. The highly-anticipated sequel to Hocus Pocus features the return of the Sanderson sisters, three witches hellbent on staying young forever. Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker were given a special place in the history of Halloween films for their wickedly whimsical performances in the 1993 flick. Much to audiences' delight, all three have been brought back for the sequel, as well as fellow returning star Doug Jones.

Helmed by Anne Fletcher (The Proposal), Hocus Pocus 2 sees a fresh crop of Salem high school students – Becca (Whitney Peak), Cassie (Lilia Buckingham), and Izzy (Belissa Escobedo) – light the Black Flame Candle and inadvertently conjure up the Sanderson witches. It also features the introduction of TV stars Sam Richardson (Veep) and Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) into the Disney universe. As the film's September 30 streaming premiere date grows closer, Disney continues to tease audiences by dropping new clips.

Disney now releases a pretty pivotal clip from the upcoming movie, showing the Sanderson Sisters fooled by Becca and Izzy. Seemingly taking place right after the high schoolers light the Black Flame Candle and bring the witches back, the hilarious scene is titled "Forty." It sets up a rather intriguing dynamic between the witches and the new characters.

How Hocus Pocus 2's New Characters Compare To Max, Dani, & Allison

The Hocus Pocus 2 clip seems to set up how the Sanderson sisters wind up spreeing Walgreens. A clear nod to the first Hocus Pocus, in the clip Winnie urges her sisters that this time, if they see a teenager, they have to immediately kill them. Becca and Izzy quickly fashion a distraction, pretending to be the Sandersons' biggest fans and soul-suckers themselves. The moment is reminiscent of when Dani Dennison (Thora Birch) tries to trick the witches after they are brought back to life in the first film. Though the chosen lies and overall situations are quite different, it forms a subtle connection between Hocus Pocus' younger casts.

Becca and Izzy will go head to head with the Sanderson sisters by tricking them, much like how Max (Omri Katz), Dani, and Allison (Vinessa Shaw) spent a large portion of the original film. Fooling the witches, who aren't accustomed to modern ways, is a bountiful field for comedy. This Hocus Pocus 2 clip alone already shows how much fun will be had by seeing the Sanderson sisters get played. What changes the dynamic this time around is the fact that Becca is a budding witch herself. Unlike the '90s trio, the sequel's heroes have an advantage if they fight back with witchcraft, thus giving Hocus Pocus 2 a true battle between good and evil.
