A new featurette trailer for Halloween Ends teases Laurie Strode's final battle against iconic horror movie villain Michael Myers. After first being released in 1978, John Carpenter's Halloween kick-started a franchise that now features 12 installments in total. In the first film, Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie survived to become one of the most iconic horror movie final girls of all time. With David Gordon Green's Halloween reboot trilogy, Curtis' heroine is back once again to take on Myers, with Halloween Ends promising to be the last time the two characters will face off against each other.

After the events of last year's Halloween Kills, which saw Myers slaughter an angry mob of civilians before then killing Laurie's daughter, Karen (Judy Greer), Halloween Ends will pick up after a four-year time jump. A trailer for the upcoming film has already shown off some of what's to come, including a brutal kitchen fight between Laurie and Myers. Although Carpenter himself has expressed doubt that Halloween Ends will be the final movie in the franchise, it's been confirmed that the film will be the last installment in Laurie's saga that began more than 40 years ago. A final theatrical trailer for Halloween Ends has already teased the unmasking of Myers, but now a new featurette shows off even more of what's to come.

Can Laurie Finally Defeat Michael Myers In Halloween Ends?

Jamie Lee Curtis and Judy Greer Halloween Ends

With the previous Halloween Ends trailer teasing that Myers will finally be unmasked and the promise that the upcoming film will be Laurie's last, expectations are high for the movie to deliver some big surprises. Myers, despite several of close calls and fake-out deaths over the course of the franchise, has never truly died, meaning Halloween Ends could be the first to definitely kill the villain. Previous trailers have hinted, however, that Laurie might have to die in order for Myers to die as well, suggesting that killing the villain may come at a great cost.

Green's upcoming horror flick has the opportunity to provide a sense of finality to Laurie's chapter of the story, even if a different version of Myers returns in a future Halloween reboot. Laurie remains one of the most beloved final girls in horror movie history, meaning the pressure is on to deliver a satisfying ending to the character's journey. Considering the cultural impact Laurie has had and the hardships she has endured over the years, it would certainly seem fitting for the hero to finally defeat one of the most iconic horror movie villains of all time when Halloween Ends releases next month.
