Screen Rant is thrilled to exclusively present a new clip from The Munsters movie reboot, which is now available to own on Blu-ray and digital as well as streaming on Netflix. The latest film in Rob Zombie's high-profile career sees new actors take on the roles of the iconic characters, but also invites some of the original cast to participate. Though the sitcom first aired in the 1960s, the 2022 film is going all the way back to the beginning in order to serve as an origin story for the infamous couple, chronicling Herman Munster's creation in Transylvania and his first time meeting future wife Lily.

Jeff Daniel Phillips and Sheri Moon Zombie play the young Munsters couple in love, and both have collaborated with Rob Zombie before. Phillips starred in The Lords of Salem, while Moon is married to the filmmaker and is well-known for her work in House of 1000 Corpses. They are not yet joined by their onscreen children, Eddie and Marilyn Munster, who will hopefully appear in future projects if The Munsters is well-received. Longtime fans and first-time viewers will get a chance to find out what they think of the reboot today, starting with the following sneak preview.
Screen Rant's exclusive clip from The Munsters introduces viewers to Herman Munster's show business lifestyle, with his bodyguard believing Lily to be just another starstruck fan. Herman, of course, knows better and is the one starstruck himself when he hears her dulcet tones calling for him. She requests that he join her for dinner, and a hilarious sequence of him trying to hold it together ensues. Watch the full clip below:
Seeing the start of a love story that's been feeding the entertainment world for decades is surely a unique treat. Beyond the rom-com meet-cute aspects, however, the clip also gives audiences a glimpse into the gorgeous aesthetic of Rob Zombie's vision for The Munsters. Naturally, fans were originally shocked by the blossoming full color of early promotions, but it's a new and refreshing experience to see the beloved black-and-white classic reimagined for a different age.
The sitcom followed the adventures of Lily, Herman, and The Count after they moved to the mansion on 1313 Mockingbird Lane, but the newest addition to The Munsters legacy reveals the story of why they moved and how they got there. Whether or not viewers choose to accept this narrative into their personal canon for the famous monster family, it will be a delight to be able to tell new stories from that same location in the future.
The Munsters is available to own on Blu-ray and digital, as well as streaming on Netflix, September 27.
