Brooklyn-based textile artist Elodie Blanchard takes the things others no longer want and turns them into objects and environments that are full of joy and humor. Born in France, Blanchard studied sculpture and fashion. A perfect background that ultimately led to her forming her design studio in 2005, and giving us permission to explore our relationships with nature, others and ourselves through her works. Blanchard also works with brands to create textile collections and architects on large-scale installations for public spaces, institutions, residences, offices and hotels. Hopefully we’ll all have the chance to experience her work in person someday to appreciate her art studies in exploration and repetition firsthand.
