We continue to celebrate Women’s History Month along with the Female Design Council (FDC) where we’re highlighting talented women-identifying designers, artists and makers and their incredible work. This week, we’re spotlighting K’era Morgan, a Los Angeles-based mixed media artist and textile designer whose abstract artwork can be found on tapestries, throw blankets, throw pillows, prints and notebooks, along with original collage paintings. After earning a BFA in textile design from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, K’era began a long career in public relations before returning to her artistic roots. Since then, she’s focused on hand-made art, working intuitively to create each piece while pulling from her surroundings to ultimately tell a story. When creating textiles, K’era works with one of the last standing American mills to turn her colorful, graphic patterns into striking textiles made from 100% hand-dyed cotton. Her textile goods and original art pieces have landed in independent boutiques, private residences and art collections around the globe, and are available for purchase via her website k-apostrophe.com.
