New terrifying fan art shows what Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man could look like with the black Symbiote suit. Before Tom Holland joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Spider-Man, Garfield held the mantle of the iconic web-slinger. Originally, the British star was going to portray Peter Parker in not just a trilogy but also in The Amazing Spider-Man 4, with other spinoffs potentially connecting to it. The journey quickly ended after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 underperformed at the box-office with mixed reviews; Sony ended up scrapping the franchise and signed a deal with Marvel Studios that allowed the web crawler to join the MCU.

While it seemed like Garfield's time as Spider-Man was over, Spider-Man: No Way Home changed that. As Holland's trilogy came to an end, he joined forces with both Tobey Maguire and Garfield's respective versions of the Marvel icon in what became the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie of all time. Thanks to the Multiverse concept, multiple Spider-Men could share the screen and celebrate three generations of the web slinger's cinematic history. Maguire and Garfield's returns have also encouraged fans to campaign for Sony to make Spider-Man 4 and The Amazing Spider-Man 3 happen.
While The Amazing Spider-Man 3 might never be made, one fan artist is pitching an iconic storyline for Garfield's character. Arkin recently designed what Garfield's Spider-Man would look like wearing the black Symbiote costume before it eventually finds its way to Eddie Brock, who becomes Venom. The design makes Garfield look absolutely terrifying, showing the negative side effects that the Symbiote can have on its host. Check out Arkin's creation below:
The Symbiote Saga Could Be Explored In The Amazing Spider-Man 3
If Sony were ever to make The Amazing Spider-Man 3, the Symbiote saga could be the perfect storyline to explore for Garfield's Peter. Whether it would take place before or after his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the Symbiote arc was, according to unconfirmed rumors, a plot point that Marc Webb was going to explore in The Amazing Spider-Man 3. One way to explore the Symbiote is if it's revealed that Garfield's character actually exists in Sony's Spider-Man Universe, alongside Tom Hardy's Venom franchise. It's been pointed out by some fans that Garfield and Hardy's movies have similar tones, and this could be a way to get Spider-Man and Venom together on the screen while also giving Sony's ongoing franchise a face for its in-universe web crawler.
Even if it had to be a corrupted part of Eddie's black Symbiote, it would be a new way to tackle Spider-Man's black suit in live-action. A neat way to explore that storyline while also tying it back to Spider-Man: No Way Home is to have this take place before Peter meets his other Variants. This could be part of the time when Garfield's Spider-Man went a little dark after Gwen Stacy died in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which he alluded to when he met the other Peters. Whether Garfield's Spider-Man gets another film remains to be seen, but if he does, the black Symbiote arc can hopefully be brought to life, whether or not in the same universe as Venom.
