The writer of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty jokingly asks Twitter how to write a movie just a week after being hired. The introduction of Jonathan Majors' Kang in Loki as He Who Remains began the setup for him playing a massive role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has been positioned as the MCU's Thanos replacement in terms of an overarching big bad for the Multiverse Saga. This includes Kang also headlining two upcoming Avengers movies, just like Thanos. Marvel Studios confirmed Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars for 2025 releases at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.

In the time since Avengers: The Kang Dynasty's announcement, reports have begun to circulate about who will be in charge of the highly anticipated Phase 6 MCU movie. It was confirmed that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton is shepherding the first Avengers movie since Avengers: Endgame. Future reports revealed that Marvel had decided to bring Jeff Loveness back to write Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Loveness wrote the script for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which features Kang as the villain and releases in theaters early next year.
After nearly a week of being "on the job" and the reports linking him to Avengers 5, Loveness is having some fun with the responsibility of writing the film. The Rick and Morty scribe took to Twitter to ask his followers, Film Twitter, and MCU fans a very simple question: How do you write a movie? It is quite clearly a joke from Loveness, coming on the heels of his involvement in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty surfacing. The responses on Twitter vary from people genuinely trying to explain how to write a movie and joking about the MCU formula. Even award-winning comic writer/artist Chip Zdarsky shared his advice with a fake Avengers 5 script page.
For as much as Loveness' tweet is a joke, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is only the second movie that he has ever written. Beginning MCU Phase 5 with Ant-Man 3 should have been a good learning experience for him, especially when it comes to writing for Kang. There is certainly pressure on Marvel to deliver a great movie with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but Loveness does not appear to be buckling under it – he previously joked his Twitter followers could play the Avengers now that he is involved.
Asking Twitter for advice on how to write a movie like Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is inherently funny, because that is a question many fans tend to answer unprompted anyway. Thanks to rumors, theories, and comic book history, there are plenty of viewers who create what they think an MCU movie's story should be. Doctor Strange 2's disappointments partially came from fan theories, and that will not change with a movie with as much hype as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Since Loveness is the professional, though, he and anyone else involved with the film at Marvel Studios will hopefully deliver the best movie possible.
