While audiences eagerly await the next chapter in the new franchise, a piece of The Batman 2 fan art sees Percy Jackson and the Olympians star Walker Scobell as Robin. Though many are still waiting for The Dark Knight's return in the DC Extended Universe, Robert Pattinson, Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. forged on ahead with their own vision with this year's The Batman. The film saw Bruce Wayne in his second year of fighting crime in Gotham as he becomes familiar with Colin Farrell's Penguin and Zoë Kravitz's Catwoman while also hunting down Paul Dano's Riddler.

With it garnering widespread acclaim and grossing over $770 million at the box office, Reeves inked a multi-year deal with WB to further develop a Batman shared universe, including a spin-off series centered on The Penguin and a proper sequel. The deal came on the heels of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, which saw the DCEU Batgirl movie scrapped, but The Batman 2 begin to take shape as Mattson Tomlin, who was an uncredited writer on the first film, was brought on to co-write the sequel with Reeves. As viewers continue to speculate where The Batman 2 will take the franchise, one fan has their own thought on who could appear in the future.
While production continues on his Disney+ series, Instagram artist Clements.Ink shared a new piece of The Batman 2 fan art imagining Percy Jackson and the Olympians' Walker Scobell as Robin. Given the darker nature of the first film, audiences have been largely divided on whether The Batman 2 should introduce a Robin to Pattinson and Reeves' universe. Reeves himself has teased the possibility of the sequel including The Dark Knight's iconic sidekick, though noted he would only appear if he could crack the "emotional stakes" to adapt Robin for his universe. Pattinson has also expressed his openness to getting his own Robin in The Batman 2, with the sole condition that the character has to be 13, of which Scobell currently is.
Even if the sequel doesn't include the young sidekick, The Batman 2 fan art imagining Scobell as the universe's Robin is sure to be an interesting concept for fans of the character. The young actor broke out in major fashion with his acting debut in The Adam Project as the child version of Ryan Reynolds' titular character, and with anticipation high for his turn as Percy Jackson in Disney+'s series, thanks in part to author Rick Riordan's frequent praises throughout its production, Scobell seems primed for another major tentpole in his future. In the meantime, audiences can revisit Pattinson's debut with The Batman streaming on HBO Max while they await new details on the sequel.
