An Emma Watson lookalike becomes Hermione Granger in a fun Harry-Potter-themed cosplay TikTok video. Based on the beloved book series by author J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone introduced audiences to Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint), and Hermione in 2001. The film was a hit with audiences and critics alike and was followed by seven sequels, the last of which, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, was released in 2011. Although Radcliffe, Grint, and Watson have since bid farewell to the franchise, the world of Harry Potter lives on in the form of theme parks and the more divisive Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 ends with older versions of Harry, Ron, and Hermione sending their respective children off to Hogwarts. Despite the film providing a very definitive sendoff to the three beloved characters, talk has persisted of the actors potentially reprising their roles at some point in the future. Recently, a number of Harry Potter stars, including Watson, reunited for Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, where they reminisced about their time in the franchise and how it's impacted all of their careers moving forward. Although it's now been more than ten years since the last Harry Potter film, love for the franchise and its stars persists among fans.
In a new TikTok video, an Emma Watson lookalike with the username @kariellex does an impressive cosplay of Hermione in celebration of the character's birthday. After showing her look before the transformation, the video transitions to show the cosplayer in full Hermione mode, including a faithful recreation of the character's Hogwarts uniform. Check out the TikTok video below:
Since ending her run as Hermione in the eighth Harry Potter movie in 2011, Watson has starred in several notable films, including The Perks of Being A Wallflower, Noah, and the critically-acclaimed Little Women in 2019. Her characters outside the Harry Potter franchise have never developed a particularly strong fan following, but her version of Hermione remains especially beloved by fans to this day. Hermione remains the most level-headed character throughout the Harry Potter franchise and boasts several signature looks over the course of the eight films, with the cosplay recreating an earlier version of her wardrobe before she resorts mostly to street clothes in later installments.
In the new TikTok, everything from Hermione's hair to her clothes to her facial expression is recreated with stunning accuracy. It remains to be seen whether the real Watson will ever reprise her role as Hermione for a future film, but if recent comments from Radcliffe about returning as Harry Potter are any indication, it won't be happening anytime soon. For now, though, Harry Potter fans continue to find new ways to honor the beloved the franchise and the characters that played such an important part in so many childhoods.
