Nope, the latest blockbuster thriller from Jordan Peele, is finally ready for fans to own on digital starting September 20. Prior to the release, as well as its subsequent arrival on Blu-ray and DVD the following month, Screen Rant can present an exclusive clip from the film's bonus features. Given the complicated nature of the story and its ambiguous ending, even diehard hards fill find new information to chew on when they pore through the extra content.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

On the surface, Nope is a sci-fi thriller about two siblings (played to perfection by Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer) trying to prove the existence of extraterrestrials on their ranch. That alone would be enough to justify the film's highly successful theatrical run, which grossed over $100M domestically, but Pelle has never stopped at just one layer of storytelling. OJ and Emerald's desire to receive acclaim for their discovery, as well as Jupe's (Steven Yeun) obsession with his child star past, speak to society's hyperfocus on fame and fortune; suggesting life doesn't happen for many people until it happens in front of a crowd.

But no matter how cerebral the theme, Nope first and foremost thrives thanks to Peele's genius visuals. In Screen Rant's exclusive clip, provided by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, the filmmaker shares what makes the UFO being (dubbed "Jean Jacket") so memorable. His favorite sound is, the people screaming inside the UFO, which drives home the point that death by Jean Jacket is a slow and horrible process. Check out the full clip below:

Nope's special effects coordinator Scott R. Fisher adds on that one of his personal favorite onscreen moments is the blood rain that covers the Haywood siblings' home. The rest of the clip explains how that bloody rainstorm marks one of the truly classic horror scenes in the film, simultaneously declaring itself as part of the genre while setting it apart from other movies with similar plots.
