Marvel Studios' D23 Expo panel has provided some exciting new trailers and first looks for upcoming films and series in the MCU. Having just over an hour to reveal all sorts of new details, Marvel Studios' presence at Disney's major expo comes after their significant showcase at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. As such, the D23 Expo gave Marvel the chance to go further, giving fans a greater idea of what to expect in the coming years.

At SDCC, Marvel Studios provided a rather large roadmap for the Multiverse Saga, the new overarching narrative being told across Phases 4, 5, and 6. This included two new Avengers films that will be released in 2025. However, the new Marvel panel at the D23 Expo chose to keep things more focused on 2023 and 2024, revealing new creatives, new talent, and a couple of exciting trailers for upcoming projects coming to Disney+.

Werewolf by Night

Featuring a brand-new trailer released to the public, Marvel fans got their first look at Werewolf by Night, the first Marvel Studios Special Presentation coming to Disney+ on October 7th. The series will star Gael García Bernal as Jack Russel's Werewolf by Night and Laura Donnelly as the monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone. Directed by Michael Giacchino, Werewolf by Night will be a truly unique MCU project as a black-and-white retro horror story (and will also feature the official MCU debut of the Man-Thing).

Secret Invasion

Marvel Studios also debuted the first trailer for Secret Invasion, a new series starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, as well as Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman in brand new MCU roles. Featuring Fury's return to Earth, the former director of SHIELD will be caught in a massive alien conspiracy involving the shapeshifting aliens known as Skrulls. Secret Invasion will begin streaming in early 2023.

Armor Wars

Fantastic Four

Unfortunately, not much was revealed for 2025's Fantastic Four. While many were hoping that the cast would be revealed, the only thing Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige had to share was the confirmation that WandaVision's Matt Shakman will serve as the film's director. Hopefully, the cast for Marvel's First Family will be revealed soon.

Echo

Marvel's Maya Lopez in Echo

Exclusive footage for Marvel's Echo was revealed as D23 as well, confirming the return of Vincent D'onofrio's Kingpin. While Maya Lopez shot him in the head at the end of Hawkeye, it seems as though Wilson Fisk is alive and well (albeit wearing an eye patch to cover the loss of his eye). Having recently wrapped filming, Echo is set to release in the Summer of 2023.

Daredevil: Born Again

Both shared their excitement for the upcoming series, which will have 18 episodes. Having made his official MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Cox's Matt Murdock is about to be featured in an upcoming episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, where Daredevil and She-Hulk will team up to fight a group of thugs (confirmed via exclusive footage for She-Hulk episode 5).

Captain America: New World Order

Carl Lumbly will also return as Isiah Bradley, the first black Super-Soldier who was introduced in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, along with Danny Ramierez's Joaquín Torres, who will become the MCU's new Falcon. The Israeli mutant super-spy Sabra will be introduced in the new Captain America film as well.

Marvel Studios also confirmed the cast and all 7 members for Marvel's Thunderbolts coming in 2024. Starring Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier/White Wolf, they will be joined by former villains such as Red Guardian, U.S. Agent, Taskmaster, and Ghost, all of whom will likely be recruited by Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Thunderbolts will begin filming next year in 2023.

The Marvels

Monica Rambeau, Kamala Khan, and Carol Danvers from The Marvels

Last but not least, exclusive footage was shown at D23 Expo for The Marvels, the Captain Marvel sequel that will feature Carol Danvers' Captain Marvel joining forces with Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau's Spectrum. For some reason, the new footage confirms that all 3 heroes in the MCU will start swapping places every time they use their powers (as seen in Ms. Marvel's post-credits scene). Nick Fury is featured in the new footage as well. Directed by Nia DaCosta, The Marvels will be coming to theaters in July of 2023.
