Reality star Kim Kardashian expresses an interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Black Panther 2 marking the last movie in the MCU's Phase 4, fans are looking forward to the future of the franchise. While Phase 4 has featured stories that seek to broaden the scope of the MCU both on-screen and off-, with multiversal storytelling and a huge foray into TV, fan reception of the MCU's Phase 4 as a whole has been mixed. One change fans have pointed to is a shift in the franchise's tone to being much more lighthearted overall to the detriment of coherent storytelling, which some say has disrupted their immersion in MCU projects.

Despite the mixed fan reviews of Phase 4, the wide variety in the franchise's recent projects means there is something for everyone to enjoy. Phase 4 of the MCU has also seen a rise in celebrity appearances and cameos, including most recently Megan Thee Stallion in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law episode 3, which set the Internet abuzz. If the MCU continues this trend in Phase 5, it's possible that audiences may see a very familiar face in the franchise.

In a conversation with Interview Magazine, Kardashian reveals her acting ambitions. In a surprising twist, she states an interest in joining the MCU. See what she has to say below:

Would I act? I would if something fun came about. Maybe a Marvel movie, that would be so fun to do. I’m not actively looking, but I think things just come when they’re supposed to.

Kim Kardashian from The Kardashians

Kardashian's interest in joining the MCU is not a shock, though it is a little jarring to picture the reality star in such a different setting. A huge franchise with lasting staying power, the MCU is an attractive option for many actors now, since it tends to catapult its participants to stardom. With Kardashian's cemented celebrity status, though, her interest in joining the franchise is likely based on her personal enjoyment of the films more than anything else, which is encouraging, since she seems to be a fan.

Though it's not entirely known what the MCU Phase 5 will bring, the releases of films such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as well as the return of Ms. Marvel in The Marvels, seem to cement that Phase 4's move to more lighthearted storytelling will continue, at least in part. However, Phase 5 will also feature Marvel's Thunderbolts and other films that may bring on a darker, grittier tone. Regardless of the direction the MCU may take in Phase 5 or further down the line, Kardashian has made it clear that she may want to be a part of it. Though her Marvel debut is unlikely in the long run, and certainly would be a long way off either way, Phase 5 of the MCU is sure to ring in some surprises when it kicks off next year.
