With Robert Downey Jr. now in the past, a piece of Iron Man variant fan art is sure to convince some that John Stamos should be Tony Stark. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Multiverse Saga is well underway, one wonders if a variant of the hero will ever show up in the franchise's multiple projects. It's already known that Riri Williams will become the latest face of the MCU's "Iron" storylines with Ironheart and potentially team up with Don Cheadle's War Machine in Disney+'s upcoming Armor Wars series, but the idea of an Iron Man variant has been speculated by fans since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was announced in 2019.

When the second trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness came out, many internet users believed that Superior Iron Man made an appearance. In reality, it was Lashana Lynch as Monica Rambeau, a Captain Marvel variant in Earth-838. However, fan art immediately started to blow up, imagining Tom Cruise as Superior Iron Man. But other actors were also courted by fans to play a variant of Tony Stark, and one of the most inspired fan casting choices was Big Shot's John Stamos as the character.
Graphic designer Samuel Chevé made that fan casting a reality by posting a piece of Iron Man variant art involving Stamos as Tony Stark on Instagram. The piece of fan art imagines Stamos as a variant of Robert Downey Jr'.s Stark, with the E.D.I.T.H. glasses and Stark's famous beard, going so far as to put a picture of the actor inside a fan-made poster. Check out the poster below:

The fan art imagining Stamos as Tony Stark is quite simple, though because of its simplicity, it's hard not to imagine the character playing an Iron Man variant after looking at the art. There are multiple rumors that Superior Iron Man could make an appearance in a future MCU project, and if that were to be true, the most likely would be in either Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars. While everyone has their eyes fixed on Tom Cruise, this fan art should convince some that Stamos would be a great candidate for the role.
Stamos has already proven himself to be highly charismatic in such shows as Full House, ER, Born to Ride, and Big Shot. Should an Iron Man variant appear in some capacity in the MCU's future, John Stamos has the acting capabilities to make it work even better than Tom Cruise. Though Marvel has recently bowed to bouts of fan-casting, with John Krasinski appearing as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, John Stamos would definitely be one of the best choices for an Iron Man variant. Only time will tell if there will be alternate versions of Iron Man in one (or many) of the MCU's Multiversal projects.
