Warner Bros.' cult horror movie Trick 'r' Treat is finally getting a theatrical release. Written and directed by Michael Dougherty, the movie starred Dylan Baker, Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, Quinn Lord, and Leslie Bibb, who all play characters inside five anthology stories that occur on Halloween. The film premiered in multiple film festivals for two years before hitting store shelves in 2009, and has since garnered a cult following.
Thirteen years after its direct-to-DVD release, Warner Bros. is giving Trick 'r' Treat its first wide theatrical release, as confirmed by Warner Bros' Classic Films on Twitter. The film will be released in cinemas for the first time ever, finally giving Dougherty's cult horror hit its overdue theatrical release as it's released in Regal Cinemas during October.
