Star Wars has unveiled the wedding dress Princess Leia wore when she married Han Solo. Princess Leia and Han Solo's relationship in the Star Wars trilogy was one of the most important romantic storylines in the Skywalker Saga. Thirty-two years after Return of the Jedi, when The Force Awakens hit theaters, audiences learned that Leia and Han did get married, but their marriage did not last due to their son Ben Solo turning to the dark side and becoming Kylo Ren.

The 32-year gap between the events of the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy has opened the door for plenty of stories, from the Disney+ series like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett to a slew of original Star Wars books and comics. One of the most recent novels was Star Wars: The Princess and the Scoundrel by author Beth Revis. The story explores the marriage of Leia and Han on the forest moon of Endor at the end of the Return of the Jedi and their immediate honeymoon on the Halcyon, the new luxury star cruiser that is also featured in LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation and a real $6,000 hotel at Walt Disney World.

The book gives a detailed description of the dress, and the novel's cover features it, but those wanting to get a complete look at the dress are in luck. In celebration of the book's publication, Variety has revealed the official concept artwork for Princess Leia's wedding dress described in Star Wars: The Princess and the Scoundrel. The image's concept artist is Tara Phillips, and the green dress and floral theme evoke the Endor planet on which the wedding takes place. Look at the concept art below:

The Star Wars franchise might be well known for lightsabers and space battles. Still, one other iconic element is the elaborate outfits, specifically the outfits worn by Princess Leia in the original trilogy and the vast amount of dresses worn by her mother, Queen Amidala, in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. The subtle floral design on the back of Leia's is similar to the floral dress Padme wore during her wedding to Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Leia's wedding dress will likely get plenty of recreations in cosplays, and those planning their own wedding if they go for a Star Wars theme.

Despite Carrie Fisher's passing in 2016, Leia's story in Star Wars continues to expand with these novels and comic storylines. Audiences got to explore a previously unknown part of Leia's life in Obi-Wan Kenobi, where actress Vivien Lyra Blair took on the iconic role. While there are currently no plans for a Princess Leia Disney+ series, for those wanting to follow more adventures of a galaxy far, far away's favorite princess, there is certainly no shortage of good stories to look into.
