Legendary Star Wars composer John Williams would like to work on a James Bond film. Williams is the most prolific and celebrated film composer of all time, having been nominated for 52 Academy Awards for Best Original Score and winning five. Williams is most likely well known for his work on the Star Wars series, having made the music for all nine episodes in the Skywalker saga over four decades.

Williams has created music for some of cinema's most iconic franchises, like Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, E.T., and Jaws. He has also composed the music for pre-existing characters like the themes for Superman: The Movie and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which have now become so ironically linked to those franchises. However, one franchise Williams has never worked on is James Bond, and it appears the composer would like to one-day fix that.

In a recent interview with ClassicFM via The Guardian, Williams spoke about working on the upcoming Indiana Jones 5 with Steven Speilberg. Since Indiana Jones as a series was born out of Speilberg's desire to do a Bond movie and George Lucas offering him something better, the topic landed on James Bond. When asked if he would ever want to write the score for a James Bond movie, Williams simply replied, "I'd love it."

Music is a vital part of the James Bond franchise, with one recurring tradition is to get a major artist to compose the opening title theme with the latest three themes 'Skyfall' by Adele, 'Writing on the Wall' by Sam Smith, and 'No Time To Die' by Billie Eilish all winning the Best Original Song. As for the film scores, the franchise has had several composers, the most prominent being John Berry, the composer of nine James Bond films. The franchise has brought in David Arnold, Thomas Newman, and most recently Hans Zimmer but never John Williams despite his impressive resume.

Following Daniel Craig's final time playing James Bond in No Time To Die, Eon Productions is currently looking at how to relaunch the James Bond series and looking at actors to take on the iconic spy. Currently, there is no projected date for a new Bond film. Williams is presently working on the score for Indiana Jones 5, which the 90-year-old composer has hinted at being his last film score. If Eon Productions approached him for the next 007 film, the composer could decide to return one last time to add his mark on another iconic series.
