On the heels of the franchise's big-screen return, Dragon Ball villain Frieza becomes a Xenomorph in new Alien crossover art. The iconic and overpowered villain Frieza is a staple of the Dragon Ball franchise and nearly destroyed the Saiyan race. The adversary who killed Goku's childhood best friend Krillin, Frieza instigated Goku's first Super Saiyan transformation. Frieza has used four different forms during his time in the franchise, increasing in power each time.

Created by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shussett, the Alien franchise launched with Ridley Scott's eponymous 1979 sci-fi horror movie in which the crew of a commercial space tug ship came under attack from the deadly extraterrestrial threat known as the Xenomorph. A formidable franchise in its own right, Alien boasts video games, multiple sequels, and an upcoming TV series from Fargo creator Noah Hawley. Though not yet a match for Dragon Ball's long list of films, animated series, manga, short films, and video games, the chilling alien species of Xenomorphs are a pop culture staple.

In new crossover fan art from artist Jackson Caspersz via Instagram, Frieza gets yet another transformation, this time across franchises. Frieza appears as a curled up Xenomorph from the Alien franchise with a sinister grin, seemingly ready to strike on any unlucky to cross his path. See the image below:

Frieza's signature purple and white colors are seamlessly blended into the Xenomorph silhouette in the Dragon Ball and Alien crossover fan art. Rather than having the bared teeth of Alien's Xenomorphs, the image features a smug expression from the iconic anime villain, while his outstretched hand makes for an unsettling addition to the Xenomorph's usually more feral movements, fusing more intelligent features with the animalistic Alien creature. In amusing fashion, the text above the fan art reads "this isn't even my final form," a phrase popular attributed to the popular Dragon Ball villain on the Internet.

Having died and come back to life several times, Frieza seemed to be alive and well in the latest installment of the Dragon Ball franchise, 2022's Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. In the Gohan and Piccolo-centered movie, Frieza appeared briefly in his ship's command room and was mentioned by Goku. Luckily for fans of the franchise, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was extremely successful, boasting the best anime box office opening of all time, and with the show confirmed to return with new episodes in 2023, Frieza seems likely to return in some form in the revived series.
