Deadline reports that Teller will be starring in Derrickson's next feature, The Gorge, which is being produced by Skydance. The film is based on a spec script from Zach Dean (The Tomorrow War), and Teller is also attached as an executive producer on the film. The details of the film's plot are being kept under wraps, but it is expected to be a genre-bending film that includes both action and romance.

Derrickson and Teller have both had successful years with Top Gun: Maverick grossing over $1 billion at the global box office, and The Black Phone grossing $150 million at the global box office, a feat for the indie horror film produced on a budget of $25 million. Derrickson is well-versed in the horror world, but the chance to see a new film from him that steps into a different genre is intriguing, as well as whether this next script from Dean will find more critical acclaim than The Tomorrow War's lackluster reception. Viewers will have to continue following updates regarding The Gorge, including who will share the screen with Teller.
