Paramount has released a brand-new trailer for their forthcoming psychological thriller film The Infernal Machine, starring Guy Pearce. Written and directed by Andrew Hunt, the story of The Infernal Machine revolves around Bruce Cogburn (Pearce), the reclusive and controversial writer of a famous book called The Infernal Machine, as he is drawn out of isolation after receiving letters from an obsessive fan. While Bruce searches for the person behind the cryptic messages, he is forced to confront his past, ultimately leading to the truth behind his book. The film also stars Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness), Jeremy Davies (The Black Phone), and Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike).

Now, Paramount has dropped an official trailer for The Infernal Machine, putting the spotlight on Pearce's protagonist Bruce as he descends into madness. The trailer begins with Bruce waking up from a nightmare, which is seemingly caused as a result of a set of mysterious messages he receives from a stranger. The Infernal Machine marks Pearce's second film of 2022 after appearing in Martin Campbell's recent action thriller Memory, which starred Liam Neeson. The Memento and Iron Man 3 actor is also set to be seen in the upcoming cold war espionage TV series A Spy Among Friends, alongside Damian Lewis. The above trailer undoubtedly offers plenty of intrigue for movie fans looking for an original cinematic puzzle. Audiences can check out the Australian actor's latest feature when The Infernal Machine releases in theaters and on-demand on September 23.
