Nearly 40 years after first working together, Indiana Jones and Short Round actors Harrison Ford and Ke Huy Quan reunited for an adorable photo at the D23 Expo. Both were at the expo for different Disney projects, with Ford in the long-awaited Indiana Jones 5 and Quan joining Loki season 2. Loki season 2 revealed a trailer for the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series, while Ford gave an emotional speech during the standing ovation for Indiana Jones 5’s first look.

Though well-known for plenty of roles outside of either franchise, Ford is still most associated with the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies, having teamed with Disney for appearances in the sequel trilogy of the former. Meanwhile, Quan had quit Hollywood after becoming a child star in The Goonies and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in the '80s, but recently returned to acting in the film Everything Everywhere All At Once, which grossed over $100 million worldwide. With the A24 multiversal dramedy scoring rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, the door is open for Quan's resurgence and now the star is getting nostalgic.
While attending the D23 Expo Ke Huy Quan took to Instagram to share a photo of he and Harrison Ford reuniting. The adorable image sees the Indiana Jones and Short Round actors with arms wrapped around each other and huge grins, with Quan going on to express his love for Ford with a simple quote from Short Long. Quan and Ford's adorable Indiana Jones reunion at the D23 Expo is sure to prove a nostalgic flashback for those who fell in love with Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Despite initially stepping back from the film industry after his childhood years, Quan has largely looked back positively on his experience working with Ford, recalling how the franchise actor helped teach him how to swim on set of the sequel. Quan has also previously teased his own interest in returning as Short Round for a potential Indiana Jones sequel, comparing it to his return to acting with Everything Everywhere All at Once, which he called a "very distant dream."
Unfortunately for those eager to see the characters reunite on screen, Harrison Ford revealed at D23 Expo that Indiana Jones 5 would mark his final performance as the iconic archeologist. Given Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy also previously stated that Ford would not be recast for the future, it seems the door may be shut for Short Round and Indy to reunite in the future, unless the latter comes back in a spinoff sequel. While audiences await Ford's return, they can revisit Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom streaming on Fubo and Showtime now.
