Spider-Man dunks on Moon Knight and Thor: Love & Thunder villain Gorr during a basketball game in amusing new Marvel fan art. Tom Holland portrays the latest live-action incarnation of the fan-favorite webslinger, and his last film enjoyed the second biggest MCU domestic box office total after Avengers: Endgame. Spider-Man: No Way Home, which released in December 2021, was a pop culture sensation, uniting fans across Marvel's properties by putting all three live-action Spider-Man actors (Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Holland) in one movie.

In a franchise known for its crossover events, No Way Home stood out due to its union of Spider-Men from three different universes rather than connecting heroes from different films that inhabit the same universe, as Marvel had done previously with Avengers movies and others. The film brought Maguire and Garfield, whose films were created and distributed by Sony, into the MCU, however briefly. Though Marvel characters Moon Knight and Gorr were absent from No Way Home, they play basketball alongside Spidey in a new fan art.
Visual artist Hibban Mohammed (also known as venomhology) unveiled the crossover art via Instagram. In the image, Holland's iteration of Spider-Man clearly has the upper hand against Thor 4 villain Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) and Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight (the Steven Grant version). The amusing image is a bit tongue-in-cheek, since it pits an old staple of Marvel's against characters that were first seen on screen this year. Disney+ series Moon Knight debuted in March 2022 and ran for six episodes, while Gorr appeared as the main villain of the critically mixed fourth Thor film. While Love and Thunder fared moderately well at the box office, its numbers as the MCU's #13 domestic gross don't come close to No Way Home's. Moon Knight earned critical acclaim, but is neither the highest-rated nor the most-watched MCU Disney+ series. All that aside, Spidey's powers and web-swinging abilities definitely give him an advantage on the court, even if he is playing against two formidable foes.
As it stands, it makes sense that the teen hero seems to be beating them in a friendly game of basketball. Luckily, there is room for all these characters and many more in the future of the MCU. Though Gorr is unlikely to be in new Marvel projects due to his death in Thor 4, his daughter is alive and well in the MCU. Moon Knight may have yet to receive a season 2 confirmation, but Isaac and the series' creators have made it clear that they would return for more. And while audiences wait for official news about the future of Holland's Spider-Man, fans can look forward to the re-release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will feature new footage of all three beloved Spideys.
