Drew Barrymore says she would love to do another Charlie's Angels movie with Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu. The actor played Special Agent Dylan Sanders in the 2000 film Charlie's Angels and reprised the role in the subsequent 2003 Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle movie. Diaz, who played Special Agent Natalie Cook, and Liu, who played Special Agent Alex Munday appeared in both movies alongside Barrymore.
The two Charlie's Angels movies in the early 2000s tell the story of three crime-fighting agents who answer to a mysterious boss named Charlie. While we never see Charlie, the special agents have a liaison in Bosley, played by Bill Murray in the first film, and by Bernie Mac in the 2003 sequel. The film is an adaptation of the classic 1976 action TV series of the same name, starring Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith, and Kate Jackson.

In a recent conversation with comedian Benito Skinner in her podcast Drew's News, Barrymore was asked if she would ever return for a third run as Special Agent Dylan Sanders with Liu and Diaz. She had an immediate answer saying that she would return to the role. In regards to her co-stars, she stated "I would be surprised if any one of us ever decreed that we wouldn't [do a third movie]. I would. I would in a heartbeat. The answer is an emphatic yes. I will always say yes."
Will Charlie's Angels 3 With Barrymore, Liu & Diaz Ever Happen?
Barrymore went on to explain that Lucy Liu was recently asked the same question at a Comic Con, and that she was at the edge of her seat for her friend's answer. Liu's excitement at the time wasn't quite the same as Barrymore's, and the actor only offered a vague reply: "I think we teamed up as moms. It's really nice that we're all moms now since that time, and it's just a different phase in our lives." The trio remain close friends off-screen and even staged a reunion in 2020 on Drew Barrymore's talk show's premiere. Barrymore has said that the great thing about their friendship is that they have been there for each other through everything, and their relationship is the real deal. During her conversation with comedian Skinner, Barrymore did not contain her excitement about the possibility of reuniting on screen with her friends, even getting a suggestion from Skinner that he should play a gay Bosley in their imagined sequel.
Whether a new installment in the Charlie's Angels franchise with the 2000s movie's original cast will become a reality remains to be seen. The most recent installment was the 2019 version of the Angels, starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska. It would certainly be interesting to see how these new angels would fit in with the Barrymore, Diaz, and Liu team, and how the two generations would work together.
