Dutch designer Ward Wijnant (whose experimental work we’ve shared before) has created a new series of mirrors using a very common household material. Titled CHUNK, the series consists of mirrors that have been molded by hand using tinfoil. Wijnant believes technique and material both lead him to creating the final form, which is why tinfoil is surprisingly an ideal material to work with. By hand-folding the tinfoil, each object gets its own weight and structure, in addition to a unique lustrous texture that is achieved through this technique.
The CHUNK Mirror is available in Lila, Bronze, Pink, Silver, and Green.
